SAFE HAZARDOUS WASTE REMOVAL SERVICES IN MEDICINE HAT

Asbestos Removal

You can't tell by simply looking at a material whether it contains asbestos or not. There are more than 5,000 products that contain or have contained asbestos. Asbestos is used in building materials in different forms:

Spray-applied flame retardant

Insulation

Flooring

Textured ceilings

Duct wrap

Thermal system insulation

Vermiculite in attics

Plaster

Register vents

Roof shingles

And more

Harmful Effects of Asbestos

Asbestos fibres can enter the body through breathing. The fibres get trapped in the mucous membranes of the nose and throat, and some may even pass deep into the lungs or, if swallowed, into the digestive tract. And if they are trapped in the body, they can cause severe health concerns as the body cannot break them down or remove them. Asbestos fibres can cause:

Asbestosis

Lung Cancer

Mesothelioma

Our Process

At Jake's Drywall, we use air scrubbers to suck and tarp the floating fibres into a HEPA filter. Asbestos waste is sent in double 6-mil sealed bags that are cleaned and wiped down before going to the landfill for burial. We take the safety of our employees very seriously - our team wears PPE such as Tyvek coveralls, fit-tested respirators with P100 Filters, rubber gloves and safety glasses to remain safe.
